Spain’s numbers are rising quickly

Madrid, Spain –15-Day Lockdown
Spain's death toll from the coronavirus epidemic has jumped to 1,720, an increase of 394 on the previous day, according to media reports citing the latest health data.
The number of registered cases in the country has risen to 28,572, up 3,646 on yesterday's figure.
The news comes as PM Sanchez and other government ministers are meeting in Madrid to discuss an extension to the current 15-day lockdown.

It’s because of the belt and road initiative China started a few years ago. Many of these countries getting hit hard by this are apart of this initiative and have lots of labor from China and other things

What is amazing to Scruffy is that these countries, which have populations significantly smaller than the US, are seeing death tolls significantly higher than we are.
What factor is at play here?
Maybe socialized medicine is even worse than we thought.

I know a recent LSU graduate who's spending a year teaching English over there. Based on her instagram, she and her friends give zero fricks. Lots of pics at bars and tourist attractions, including trips to other European countries in the recent past.

Seeing as though we can't get proper testing, and the president wants to "keep the numbers down"

This is probably the only bit about the virus that gives me any kind of worry.
My sister and her husband have been in Spain the past five years. He’s in/was in the air force. They were getting moved back to the states in April. He’s been medically discharged for MS. Because of this virus shite, his dates for processing have been pushed back indefinitely.
Because of his MS, my sister has had him and the kids on lockdown for the past three weeks.

More densely populated, more elderly and more smokers.
Spain has an excellent healthcare system. I've experienced it firsthand. Honestly far superior to ours and it's not even close really.
