Agreed.
You can build your own levee system. I believe NASA has that at Michoud. Materials, roofing, etc. Every risk imagined can be engineered to prevent anything.
We are just so used to doing it half arse because to do it right means its expensive, and to us expensive means rip off.
I am still amazed that we are still using asphalt shingles on roofing, for example. We should strive to have something similar to Miami-Dade county approved materials in buildings.
I highly doubt that Space X will curt corners on building methods to prevent/mitigate disasters.

Just copy their levee. system. A team stayed back and kept the pumps running during Katrina, and it literally saved the Space Shittle Program.
Michoud is the green area on the right side in this photo taken after Katrina went through. Everywhere else was flooded.

In keeping with the Star Trek naming conventions that SpaceX seems to like to use, I would say it’s more likely that they call it Starbase - Louisiana (or Starbase - Pecan Island) rather than Space City - Louisiana.

It's suppose to be another starbase. If so, HUGE! I wouldn't doubt if several thousand permanent workers AFTER construction. They literally will build space ships on assembly lines!

Company I work for had a call with SpaceX on Friday. From what I was told, it would be 6 launchpads to avg 3 launches per day. 3,000 homes including restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

I am speaking to the OP who is obviously clueless. No different than an environmental/social justice group out of NOLA who thinks that bright lights and noise will scare all the wildlife away. Pre mid 80's there were barge drilling rigs, natural gas processing plants and old integral gas engine compressor stations whose thump thump thump you could hear from miles away. Back then 12 to 16 foot alligators were common as pavement on the streets of Baton Rouge.
