It’s coming….believe me it will be HUGE. Housing, restaurants, tourist center, Mars theme park, you name it it’s coming. Like bigger than big! Expect an announcement 7-9 days.

There’s almost 8000 direct employees at the one in Texas, if they duplicate that, all those people are gunna need someplace to live. It’ll change Vermilion Parish quite a bit

They will be lining up to live in Kaplan.

Because Space X is getting killed by lawsuits in Texas near Starbase. The legislature gave SpaceX near total immunity from lawsuits last session. That’s one of many reasons why this project will be bigger than what Texas has.

Louisiana is one of the most litigious states there could possibly be along with a majorly corrupt and incompetent political class. Why do you Louisiana car insurance rates are the highest in the country? Whatever legal insanity there is in Texas I can promise you Louisiana is triple.
It ranks in the bottom of so many categories for a reason.
It's hilarious to think Louisiana would be a better spot than Texas, its not even close even WITH the lawsuits.
Outside of gambling, theres nothing Louisiana allows that Texas hasnt already put down and flourished with.

The spot is desirable due to launch trajectories. There will be several of these sites along the gulf coast

So is this to replace Texas or to add to what SpaceX already has?

When is someone gonna tell Elon we got hurricanes on the gulf coast that will wipe out his investment(s) in a single 24 hr period

Not if you build correctly. Port Fourchon while damaged for Ida was able to reopen in a few days. And now with the LA 1 bridge nearing completion, that will aid in the resiliency that is Port Fourchon.

I thought it was reported that the threat of hurricane flooding killed the project. No?

Non-sense.

He's already pretty heavily invested on the Gulf coast and the eastern coast of Florida. Not only that, he's scheming to build on the edges of the Continental shelf.

RD will continue at Starbase, TX. Starbase, LA will be for production, polar launches, and South American satellite launches (Internet to the Amazon). Baws will be employed for nearly constant construction, as well as producing Starships and Starlink satellites.
The big difference between this and the TX location is that Brownsville is right next to Boca Chica and has a population of 190k. That means more residential development for workers and likely better infrastructure connections to Lafayette and Houston. Intercoastal access will be important as well.

Adding on. They want to launch constantly meaning they will need several sites along the gulf coast

Can confirm that it’s a done deal

Don’t do it
It will pollute everything in your area like it did to Bastrop tx

Add to
Gives Starship a north-south route
Right now from Texas is only east-west
