Christmas ornaments, coffee mugs, and shirts.

What’s the point? All Buc-ee’s have the same exact stuff, so it doesn’t matter which ones we’ve been to.

Unframed original art work (no prints) that to me feels regional.
Fabric that used to be regional, but no longer is.
Pottery that is regional.

I prefer magnets. Panties are hard to attach to the refrigerator

I like to collect drinking glasses and shot glasses from cities I visit
Posted on 10/5/25 at 8:46 pm to Kirby59
Well, for myself, I use to collect shot glasses. Now I get whatever I see that I like. Might be a coffee cup, hat, t-shirt, or maybe a sticker for my water cup.
For the family, we usually get a Christmas ornament.

Wife collects hat/lapel pins to display upon several felt banners. She gets an ornament from special sites, but not many.
I used to get coffee cups, but quit that. Have more than a normal man needs.
I also get a golf shirt or towel from courses I play. Played in all 50 states and a few foreign countries.
I try to bring back a bottle or three of non-exported alcoholic beverage.

I am not a collector of anything and never understood souvenirs
Collections of any sort just don't interest me and never really have

I typically get things of little value to anyone but me. Here’s what comes to mind:
- a quartz rock with fools gold in it from a fly fishing trip to Steambost Springs with a good friend.
- a stick from the Evangeline Oak thst I visited with my mother.
- some lava rocks that I collected while sitting on a little mound near Casper, Wyoming while antelope hunting with a friend who has passed.
- a railroad spike and lump of coal that I found on an abandoned narrow-gauge railroad track in Durango, Colorado.
- the mashbill from a batch of liquor produced in the ‘70s from the jack Daniel distillery in Lynchburg.

Memories. Anything else ends up being clutter

It’s odd, but I was raised with a geologist in the family, so we’ve always gotten a rock from wherever. Usually write the location/date on the bottom and it goes in a “rack garden” of sorts.
We always try to get the most exotic one we can and my bastard brother took one from the newly formed beach in Hawaii after the big volcanic eruption a few years ago, so I guess I’ll have to go climb Everest to get the top spot again.
