The problems with the commercial are manifest. The one that most stands out though is why would you have Wally Pontiff, Sr. say that he approves this message at the end of the spot? It isn't a political ad. Very strange. Local commercials are the worst.

You remembered the company name and the commercial, I would say it's effective advertising.

If it was awareness or brand building marketing you might have a point. It isn't, though. It is trying to move the listener to employ them to do work. The ad is not getting the job done with me specifically when evaluated against the proper goal.

It's not better than the Harpers Habadashery. Every time that guy says. "That's right Gordy" I want to puke.

I think the Pontiffs are fine people, but I doubt anyone is like, "Wow, Wally Pontiff Sr. is all in. Guess we need to get these guys." It was an odd choice, no doubt.

Because we're right in the middle of election season. And it's a play on all the ads.

Agreed. I can't stand the canned voice and juvinile set up. The script is something you would see in a middle school project.

There was another one with the same scripts and voice a few months back about solar panels.

Canned radio voice: One Day, Brett, was considering adding solar panels

Awkward random dude: Uh, after paying off the house, I uh, get my uh, financial situation, and the electric bill was next.

Canned radio voice: but...he had some concerns:

Awkward random dude: I had some uh, concerns about the arse-ted-icks but it became really, uh, apparent that it was not a concern anymore.

Yeah, the entire formula is stupid. The solar commercial was incredibly terrible. Sometimes the setups didn't really match with what the guy was saying.

There is a strange trend in local advertising. The lexus or acura (shows how effective they are) commercials where the guy paying for the ad acts like its some impromptu conversation on the street? He stammers over words and is almost indignant to the fact that he has to take time to address these questions that he wrote and is paying for to be on the air.

I do enjoy the quirky time signature of the "Relief Windows" jungle.

God I miss my Sirius.
