Yeah, I don't blame you for leaving this kind of talk.
No shite, the born again thing is so non Christian. Except for the Christ guy using it quite a bit.
quote:

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”

4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[d]

But I will tune in to what a Pope says, or some cat that just got out of the Dallas Seminary.

By their doctrine, you are going to hell. I’m assuming you and your wife are unrepentant about your choice to go through ivf. According to the church, you and your wife are hell bound.

That’s just not true.

A good thought experiment is to look at the Middle Ages

People were real Christians back then not the fake fancy jean reverse atm “christians” we have today

They didn’t have ivf back then

So if an adult has a six year old in their bedroom, government must stay out of that too?

When did a six year old become a consenting adult?

You don't know what "consenting adults" means?

Relax. It's not non-christian. It's just evidence of a particular Christian background that I can do without.

don't think they meant to put the apostrophe there, but clearly it's plural, meaning 2 adults, meaning ONLY adults....

If you are talking about someone discarding embryos because they wanted tall blond haired boys, thus destroying all girls and male embryos without those traits, then we are talking about something altogether different.

Yeah these people are freaking out like all these clinics are doing ultra high level genetic engineering. No one is condoning that, and would think the vast majority of couples would hate someone who wasted a perfectly good embryo for something like that.

We were lucky and had like 15 embryos make it to day 5. Only 5 were given a high chance of being viable from visual grading because we chose not to do genetic testing.

Of course, unplanned, thankfully, our second child was conceived naturally.

We are at a moral crossroads about what to do with unused embryos, but for now I am content to continue paying for them to be frozen for the forseeable future.

An unrepentant sinner can make it into heaven under catholic doctrine? Since when?

If your worldview is IVF is a sin and should be banned, why should that be the consistent, majority worldview just because it's religious based?

Judaism allows IVF under certain circumstances. Why should your religious worldview take precedent over theirs?

If it is, then it falls short. Because you believe in truth, yet have no grounds to determine what is true when logic and reason falls short. You might consider just not believing in truth if you want to be consistent.

Neither your worldview nor your religion should prohibit me from anything. It prohibits you. Big difference.
