That dude has always been and will always be a douche. He has some serious issues obviously.

Anyone know what section 8 tenants pay. Is there a formula? Is it possible for them to live in a place that costs $1,000 a month and pay less than $100?

It's why we drive honda's and shop online/outlet. I want to live in a community where the price of the property is too much to risk to allow anyone to consider section 8. Gated HOA type developments can be the devil, but when everyone is invested, it tends to ward off such events.

Whites in large part are most affected. But it's all people who actually work for their money, then gov't takes 30%. With the 70% left, they invest on average 20%-30% of that in property. Then gov't redistributes adjoining property and diminishes that 20-30%, all for a majority who refuse to contribute.

Yea, it's funny as frick.
I'll never understand why people are so concerned with what others are and aren't doing.
I'm outraged that my tax payer money went to pay for Derrick Todd Lee's heart surgery. You know what I did about it? Got the frick over it.

They're like lawyers, you fricking hate them but when you need them, they're a huge lifesaver.

So the people living in Southdowns should just "get the frick over" the fact that their property value could drop tens of thousands of dollars? And everyone else over by LSU should be ok with Southdowns becoming the new north gates?

The law apparently says you can have two people rent that are unrelated but no more. That isn't anywhere close to unreasonable. Also, no one will give a shite if it's two girls and a friend living there. It's when you've got 3 students and their girlfriends having college parties in family neighborhoods. I know the neighborhood that started his crusade....it's not a college kid type of place.
This is clearly the motivation here. Through the years, he probably ended up buying a ton of houses in Southdowns. Then he rented a few of them to college kids and the whitebread establishment there threw a shitfit. They fought him and brought city hall on his arse.
Now he's throwing the ultimate gauntlet: renting to Section 8. Though I seriously doubt he'll ever do it, much lolz will ensue during this struggle. It's just like them fighting Rouzan. When Mickey Skyring was their councilman, he somehow didn't do every single thing their feeble and decrepit wills didn't command him to in order to stop them from developing. Many a local press piece was written on how they lashed out at everyone, like THIS GEM, further highlighting their "my way or the highway" attitudes. Yeah, Spinosa is a creepy and crooked developer, but at the same time, it kinda showed en masse what you're dealing with when you mess with Southdowns.
They probably should back off the renting to college kids thing. Old boy bringing federal renting programs in the mix is a fight Southdowns can't win. But if they want to fight, it'll provide for some pretty good entertainment.

Seriously?
I would bet that most people here don't really care what anyone else is doing unless it could have some possible adverse impact on them. That's generally how it works.

So naive.
So ignorant.
How would you like ghetto and white trash living next door to you in a neighborhood they can't afford bringing crime, despair and lowering your property value unless you are the aforementioned ghetto and white trash?

When you're moving into someone's neighborhood and your status and culture is factually know to drop property values, it becomes everyone's business and they have every right to be concerned about your trashy arse moving there.

Completely missed the point.
You don't get it. And you don't get that you don't get it.

Oh. That's what's going to happen? You know that for sure?
Does this guy own whole blocks in Southdowns or just a few houses here and there?

St George is looking mighty fine right now! If this starts happening I will sell sooner to move to 70810. I was hoping to wait for a few years

A few houses here and there turn into an entire block. An entire block turns into an entire street and the entire street turns into the entire neighborhood.
If you don't understand how much of a plague section 8 type of people are to neighborhoods, then you're either extremely naive or being disingenuous.

Because I actually don't really give a frick.
I just enjoy sitting back watching people get outraged and predicting the end of the world cause a black family or 2 will be moving in. Oh the horror!!!
