You're being intentionally obtuse again here. You know as well as everyone on here "hate" crimes are in no way applied consistently. You might do better in these conversations if you can admit that.
Show me the evidence that hate crimes are applied inconsistently.

Yeah, I'm not reading all your sanctimonious bullshite. There shouldn't be a hate crime category, all men are created equal.

I'll help you understand the issues:

Hate crimes do not punish hate. Perhaps the name "hate crime" is a misnomer, but they do not punish hate.

Perhaps the name causes cognitive dissonance for you. A crime is not a hate crime merely because the perpetrator hates the victim.

A crime is a hate crime if the perpetrator selects the victim because of actual or perceived race, age, gender, religion, color, creed, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, or ancestry of that person.

From someone claiming equal application of hate crimes? nahhh. I'm good.
When you provide evidence that hate crimes are applied unequally, I'll listen.

But if the only evidence you have is that blacks commit more crimes against whites . . . you haven't proven that those crimes were hate crimes or unequal application of the law.

again... that's perfectly ok. Not from a simpleton that claims equal application of hate crime laws.

I literally provided you a real world example among many as well as skewed FBI crime data.

How about YOU provide dependable evidence it is?

Ezekial Kelly went on a shooting spree that he livestreamed. He even said his intention was to kill white people. He wasn't charged with a "hate' crime.

Cleotha Abston wasn't charged with a "hate' crime for any of his rapes or murder.

The rape and murders of the white couple in Knoxville several years ago had no "hate" crime charge.

Those are just some I know off the top of my head.

Again, you're just being obtuse. You know as well as everyone on here it's not applied consistently.

If "hate" crime is really going to be applied consistently. Why isn't every rape a "hate" crime? You're choosing your victim based on the sex you prefer.

An anecdote is not a logical argument.

Do you know anything about the Mississippi hate crime statute or how it is applied in court?

You provided ZERO data that blacks commit more hate crimes than whites. You provided ZERO date that hate crime statutes are applied unequally.

ZERO.

Oh, after the crap you offer, now you want DEPENDABLE evidence?!?!

Your statement. Your burden of proof.

It's hard to provide black on white hate crime data when blacks almost never get charged with hate crimes.

Good point. But he (sorry, I'm assuming gender here...possible hate crime) refuses to acknowledge that criminals targeting women specifically have committed a hate crime, even though they were specifically seeking out women to commit those crimes. I'm referring to to the example in Chicago that I posted about earlier.

I don't need to justify the creation or the application of these laws. The majority of the listed characteristics have existed for over a century.

You sure about that?

quote:

1978 (State): California passed the first state-level hate crime statute, increasing penalties for crimes committed based on prejudice.

1990 (Data): The Hate Crime Statistics Act was passed, requiring the FBI to collect data on crimes motivated by race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and later disability.

2009 (Expansion): The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act expanded federal law to include crimes motivated by a victim’s actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability

Nor have you the opposite. Just more more more more.

MY statement?? You are the one claiming they are applied equally page after page after page after page. And in response to anything to the contrary.. you just ask for more evidence.

How about YOU provide something?

Numbers doesn't satisfy you, examples doesn't satisfy you, you just keep on with your own drivel.

Step up hoss. Link? Link? Link? And don't even start with garbage SPLC or special interest groups.

You offered ZERO evidence that the perps were targeting women because they were women.

I repeatedly explained that to you, but here you are again.
