They should aim at his shins / feet, and arms.

ETA: I think it's customary for at least one of the firing squad shooters to be firing a gun loaded with a blank cartridge
Yeah that was in the article. I’m sure that helps to a degree but if it’s me, I’m thinking that statistically speaking, I most likely shot the guy with a live round.
It’s probably a good thing that those guys probably don’t think like I’m thinking about it.

Friendly reminder: Louisiana has only executed 3 people since 2000 and the last one was in 2010. Also the 2010 execution was only because he gave up and stopped trying to appeal. Pathetic.
This state can’t do anything right. Time to take out the trash

If you all remember Gary Gilmore demanded a firing squad for similar reasons in 1977…

Or any kind of thinking, honestly

I have never heard of a “firing squad chair”. Sounds kind of cool!

State sanctioned executions is a slippery slope. Yes he might've deserved this but is death a truly worse punishment from a life behind bars? Does his death justify the government wrongfully executing others? This is regression not to be celebrated.

Shooting someone is awesome? I understand he was convicted of a crime, but "awesome" is not how I would describe punishment.
More like epic!

It is the least barbaric way to kill someone on death row, so that’s awesome for him.
Unless you believe in eye for an eye, which in this case would be a brutal way to go. Not that he cared about brutally beating his victims.

Recently I was reading up on the James Byrd murder in Texas, which led me to read about the last two executions in Louisiana. My first thought? Damn it’s been too long. Second thought? Those two men they executed last were some sick fricks.

The next time a fetus is convicted of murder will be the first time.

I have no problem with the death penalty. But I find the people in here being jubilant about the actual execution to be kind of weird.

Sigmon, 67, is being executed for the 2001 baseball bat killings of his ex-girlfriend’s parents at their home in Greenville County. They were in separate rooms, and Sigmon went back and forth as he beat them to death, investigators said.
That is a brutal way to kill someone. He deserves the punishment.
