You realize he has to be trolling, right? Anyone brave enough to get drunk and get behind the wheel isn't scared to visit another state.

I've been wondering about that. He's acting like a more pitiful, Asian version of Walt.

It's probably poor people for South Carolina since they have the highest % of mobile homes.

I love how a failed 19th century political ideology is deemed as "progressive" today

That shouldn’t be a factor in this discussion.

I live in Greenville sc and moved here from Alabama. My neighborhood is currently at 40 houses and building out, so we know most of who lives here from HOA and other stuff. I only know 3 other couples that are from the south. Most are from the NJ,NY, Mass area, and we have about 5 families from overseas due to BMW, Goodyear, and a family of college professors.
This area is going to be a mess logistically if we keep growing at this rate, but my house is gaining equity everyday and the job market is great. Most of my neighborhood raves about living here because the cost of living is so much cheaper. One guy had to move back to Boston to take care of his parents and he lost 2200 sq ft of house and is paying 5x the taxes every year. He is hating life

I live in Louisiana, but I’m retiring to the Alabama coast when the time comes.

I work in medicine in Charleston. Nearly all of my patients are from NJ/NY/Ohio and live in Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head or near Charleston. They all suck infinitely more than the locals and come down here without medical records.

The ranking is absolutely correct and based upon what states are the hot "move to" ones and the others are the rust belt/North east states are the top 10 "move out" ones. And yes it is based upon job oppty and inexpensive and pleasant to live in real estate. For instance tons of retirees are actually moving out of Florida an into Alabama and SC. Because of the difference in costs and no extra premium for hurricane and flood coverage worries. And the explosion of MFG in both those means they are prime areas for jobs. The new Toyota thing in Alabama is likely close to as big a plum or bigger than the new Amazon location. The mfg plant is hiring 20,000 workers. Then the suppliers who surround it will total close to that number with workers, construction, transportation. Then calculate the hotels, restaurants and service jobs! SC has been just as aggressive and is booming because of it.

I never argued otherwise. I simply asked the poster to explain how they “fricked up” their states in the north.

I live among some Yankee transplants.
It's not all bad, but many still think the North is still good, although I don't see too many itching to move back.
They complain about simple things here, like too many bugs.

Seems like every state in the south is improving and attracting out-of-state residents except Louisiana.

That is because Louisiana is an irredeemable shithole by every objective metric.

Don't get too uppity. Mississippi has far better infrastructure than Louisiana. It's really not even close. They also have a bit of manufacturing. Nissan has a huge plant in Mississippi. Do we have anything like that in Louisiana?

That's because La will load subsidy after subsidy, special tax break after special tax break; de-regulate externalities (not red tape and bureaucracy - externalities) all for Petro Chem...an industry that is already here, but which has moved plum jobs to Houston for 2 decades.
The primarily private industry council, LABI, was once and is missioned as a pro growth and business organization...but operates as a far right political organization.
