Don't underestimate the crafty little bastards. More than once I've seen a single guy completely strip down and rebuild a semi-truck diesel engine in the middle of a busy street in 2 days.

The Travelers have made their way to SA contracting. Those "rails" never existed, just billed the railroad for them and ran off with the cash.
If there were not any rails then the train technically unrailed rather than derailed.

It's already been done in Kenya in 2009. They "uprooted" 20 meters of rail.

I thought 125 to 135 per YARD was the standard.

So 50# a foot would be extremely heavy rail.

Not all mainline rail is 130 lb. rail in Africa I'd imagine. I've seen no evidence that this rail is quarter mile rail so I'm going with the 30 foot section scenario.
BTW, the weight you stated is for three feet of track, not one foot.

The main man behind the overthrow of Rhodesia was none other than Robert Mugabe. White farmers were ready to flee the country but were urged to stay by Mugabe to continue farming and keep the economy stable.
Then Mugabe reversed course and took most of the white farmer's land by force and turned it over to nationals with no farming experience. The result was the complete crash of their economy and it remains this way until today and Mugabe has used intimidation and violence to remain in power ever since.
A common theme across all of Africa.

it would be hilarious if it wasnt so sad. the AD on one of my rigs was a white zimbabwean, he said a bunch of 'locals' murdered everyone on the farm next to his. women children etc. pored acid down the husbands throat. then ripped up all the copper irrigation for scrap. farm was barren in a year. savages.

The atrocities that are inflicted on white Afrikaners at the hands of melanated savages are despicable. White women nailed to tables and raped while their fathers and husbands are forced to watch. Murders of whites.
The Western World waging war against the African hordes Alongside the brave Afrikaner and Rhodesian forces should have been a moment of pride and rescue. Instead it turned into a genocide.
And Africa is worse for it
