Ten to twelve people could haul off a 30 foot piece of rail. Depends on the weight. I'd imagine that railroad uses lighter pound rail than we do here in the states.

If you are suggesting the SA railways use lighter rail based on the belief their railroads are less sophisticated or the consists are lighter in SA then you would be incorrect. The South African railway system, in general, is better than the US Class 1 railroads and are closer to the European railways in quality.

It's sad to read about the Farm Genocide going on over there. South Africa is a shitshow.

I think he meant Orania. Damn shame the US et al sit idly by and let SA go to shite. Obama's idolizing Mandela tells the tale on what he'd like to accomplish, and what he tried to accomplish while in office.

Europe uses lighter rail than the U.S. anyway.

The us moves a lot of heavy freight by rail, Europe is more passenger centric.

Most advanced country in Africa, Mauritius, is the 70th ranked country in the world quality of life rankings. The worst or 188th is also in Africa, the Central African Republic with it's $280 p.c.GDP.

The US is 9 on the list. Fwiw.
