This generation of young degenerates can't relate to something as wholesome as The Sound of Music. Wasted post.

The real Captain von Trapp was a dyed in the wool monarchist.

Captain von Trapp
Submariner from WWI with over 10 Allied vessels sunk, as I recall.

I formerly wondered why Austria (landlocked) had a Naval Captain:

From the Kaptain’s Wiki Page

The end of World War I saw the defeat and collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In the process, Austria was reduced in size to its land-locked German-speaking heartlands, thus losing its sea-coasts, and had no further need for a navy, leaving von Trapp without a vocation or employment.”

Never cared for the movie but some of the tunes were good and Julie Andrews looked hot.
Robert Wise made good flicks. He also did Andromeda Strain which was a great flick. He did Star Trek TMP.
Wasn't Mr Von Trapp a sub commander?
