Utterly silly. Of course, the overall tech and level of civilization has regressed MANY times. We could rebuild all of the old Apollo stuff. It would be cost prohibitive - in the trillions. It was very wasteful, even at the time, but that was the only way to do it.
There is no national will for that sort of spending for that sort of project. At the time, we were sold the space program as a counter to the growing Soviet ICBM threat.

It's not all that big of a deal. If we can launch a vehicle into orbit, and dock up with a space station - landing on the moon is a chip shot.

There are some really intelligent people on the OT and some complete morons. It's an odd group of people. I do think OP is just trying to troll and stir the pot - same with the flat earth types. It's just not worth engaging with them - they are either 1. incredibly stupid 2. insane or 3. just a troll. In any instance there is nothing to gain from interacting with these types.
