Looks pretty legit to me. Thoughts?

Sony just made what might be one of the biggest surprise announcements at this year’s CES: a car. Called the Sony Vision-S, it’s an electric concept sedan that is meant to showcase the Japanese tech conglomerate’s many different strengths, from entertainment products to camera sensors and more. In fact, the Vision-S features 33 different sensors inside and outside of the car, multiple widescreen displays, 360 audio, and always-on connectivity, with some pieces coming from industry players like BlackBerry and Bosch. It’s also powered by a “newly-designed EV platform” — which appears to have been engineered by automotive supplier Magna — that Sony says will be able to power other vehicle types, like SUVs.

Better looking than I was expecting.
Maybe they’ll make a pickup.

I would not play a video game system made by Ford so color me skeptical.

The Sony car is simply a vehicle (har-har) to display their automotive related wares.

I think we need LESS shite in front of the driver and not more. There’s some important things to see outside the cockpit. We need to go back to a speedometer and a couple of gauges.

Probably play a Ford video game before I bought another Ford vehicle.

It’s getting almost comical to a degree with how digital and automated vehicles are becoming.
You have vehicles with basically an iPad in the dash now instead of a 6-8 inch screen. Then the driver dials are a big flat screen also and project stuff onto your window while driving

The rear view mirror and the rear displays seem archaic with such thick bezels.

Yeah just what the world needs, an electric pickup

I can't imagine it looking worse than the electric doorstop that Tesla built.

They missed a big selling feature by not making the steering wheel a PlayStation controller.

Is why Sony has fell behind.
Jack of all trades master of none. They're also exceedingly slow to adapt and that's a death knell in the tech industry.

I still think Sony is the best electronics brand out there.
I would take a Sony any day over Samsung or Sharp or Yamaha.
Problem is that their prices are usually at a premium.

Meh..cars are going to be self-driving, anyway. You'll be able to read a book on your daily commute to work.

Sony over Yamaha? What products? Sony’s high tech stuff was good. DAT recorders, betamaxes, trinitrons, camcorders, professional video and audio gear, Sony is the shite.
Everything else, Sony is shite.
That wasn’t always the case. Their Esprit line was a good attempt at high end.
