Songs that are just there

They aren’t bad songs and they aren’t good songs. They’re just there. Like “Philadelphia Freedom” by Elton John. That’s not a bad song. Nor is it a good song. When it comes on the radio you’re sort of pissed you have wait through it hoping to get to a good song next. Yet it is at least blocking the playing of a bad song. Still these songs are irritating.

Most pop music by the big names honestly. There’s a few gems but by and large it’s background noise that’s been filtered through numerous hands and tested to be as watered down and mass friendly as possible. I get that sounds snobbish but I think it’s true.
