Another thing to consider is you don't know the situation. Someone legally protecting themselves is not a valid target, and shooting someone that is engaged in a self defense situation can and will be held against you.

Things to consider:

Are you a coward?
Are you a beta male?
Do you live in a totally selfish bubble?

In this situation the stabbing happened so fast there is no way anyone could have intervened prior to the stabbing. Getting into a physical altercation at that point since the perp was not attacking anyone else is pointless. The right call was try and give aide to the girl.

I watched an extended version of the video and someone actually showed concern for the perp before the girl. “You bleadin bro”

why you are selfish.

It could be argued that you are the one being selfish towards your family by depriving them of a husband and father with your actions.

Are you trained?
Do you have a clear advantage in weaponry?
What makes you think that you have the upper hand in a situation that will save the stranger AND have a good outcome for your family?

Y’all can call me all the names you want, but it is clear that many of you haven’t really thought this through

Act on instincts. When it’s over everyone including yourself will know if you are a pussy or not.

Yes, got damn it, I would have intervened. As I hope someone would do for my daughters or wife.

If I didn’t intervene I could not look my family in the face bc of my cowardice.

We get it. Soy runs through your blood so you can’t see the other side. I pray you are never in a spot to intervene bc we know what option you’ll choose

No one knows how they would react in that situation. We can all surmise what we would do as we type on our phones and iPads, but until you are in that situation, you will never know.

If you are unwilling to help a stranger in need, then why should anyone feel inclined to help your wife or child when they are the stranger in need? Refusing to stand up to evil only makes evil more bold. Had the man feared the consequences of the public ripping him limb from limb he might have thought twice before stabbing her

You’re a pussy. You should always be vigilant and prepared. Your thoughts are those of a child or a woman

You're not stopping a jugular victim from bleeding out. She was dead in seconds

And yet you are the one having an emotional outburst similar to a child or woman

A man doesn’t just do shite without thinking through all the ramifications of his actions. Be rational and think about all the consequences.

I'm trained in hand to hand combat, but that is beside the point. I have 21 year old twin boys, a 13 year old girl, and a 7 year old son, and I would rather they know that I died doing what was right, than to come home and face them knowing that I let someone be harmed that I could have helped. It is a noble man who sacrifices himself for others.

To add to the general discussion: Pepper spray is seriously underrated as a defensive tool. Effective, easy to deploy, and if you’re wrong, or miss, nobody is dying. I’m not going to replace my handgun, but it’s good to carry along with a gun. My buddy who teaches concealed carry classes is a big proponent and carries both. Not sure if it would have helped this girl, but it’s a good tool for folks to carry.

I would not be good with them knowing I was a coward when someone needed serious help and I was willing to let an innocent person be severely injured or die because of it. A coward died a thousand deaths and each time I thought about it I would die inside that much more.

I've assisted once, kind of. Mardi Gras Day, on Bourbon St, about the 700 block, not too crowded. This guy is running toward me like a halfback, juking and dodging, he's carrying a purse, a guy is chasing him and he's a couple of seconds behind him.

All I did was stick out my foot, the snatcher went sprawling, the chaser was on him like a cat, grabbed the purse from him and kicked the living shite out of him until a couple of guys stopped him from homicide.

The guy looked at me, said "thanks" and walked away. I didn't even get a titty flash for my heroic effort.

able to help the young woman in Charlotte. There was no escalation or tension or threat of what was to come. It was unprovoked and immediate. Granted, you wiping him out immediately after would save our legal system a lot of time and money, but unfortunately you’d be in a world of shite for doing what should have been done.

You are 100% correct.

I wouldn’t have sat there and let her bleed to death.

If I would’ve been on the bus I would’ve probably been seated where the guy in the back left is or right behind the perp. I only sit in the very back row with no one directly behind me or stand. I would’ve been charged with murder as well from attacking from the back.

So you are right. I wouldn’t have let her bleed out without at minimum holding her fricking hand.
