At least a half dozen cops and an ambulance in the parking lot of the Bayonne at Southshore condos blocking the gate and turning away residents trying to turn in and what looked like a property manager outside stopping walk-up residents.

Then further up the road at the corner of S. Lakeshore and Stanford, there are another half dozen fire personnel plus two engines must kind of hanging out.

Seemed strange since one group was so far removed from the other.

BR firefighter shot himself. They tried talking him out of it for a bit. Shot himself in the chest. Sad situation.

Do people really call the LSU Lakes the beach, even as a tongue in cheek? Never heard that in my life and I was legitimately confused for a while there until I saw Bayonne and Stanford, thought at first maybe BR meant Biloxi Resorts or something.

Well, that particular spot is an actual beach with sand and zero-entry to the lake. It’s a great point to launch kayaks from and some just hang out on the sand.

What would you call the beach on the lakes? Everyone knows it’s not a “real” beach, but what else should we call it?

If he said the condos across from the LSU lakes, that’s very broad.

It was called BR Beach 20 years ago when I was at LSU. Have people seriously never heard that term?

That multi colored slide seemed massive when I was a kid. I think that's where it was.
