With DMX passing, rolling stone ran that “17 hours with dmx” day in the life type article and I will say that I was amused that the dude pulled into parking lots and hopped out without closing the door or taking the keys multiple times in the narrative

That doesn’t prevent anybody from stealing shite out of your car while you are gone for 2 minutes.

I know a person who lived on Esplanade Ave.....had 8, that's right EIGHT, vehicles stolen in front of the house.....several in broad daylight, while they watched

Why would they just watch it happen 8 times? I can kinda understand once, being kinda shocked as it was happening, but they 7 more time to react differently and still sat paralyzed and unable to act?

There’s definitely More to that story.

Will go until they shut off the engine. Friend & I tested it with my last car. Let’s in my pocket, it takes off in my car and I hangout w his car in case it stops/stalls. He drove from Kenner to uptown before he shutoff the car

We tried the trick where you start it through the phones, as expected that didn’t work

For some reason, this is a thing I see black people do all the time and I don't really understand why.

Don't leave your car running and leave it, especially in NOLA.

Don't leave your car running anywhere if you aren't in it. Also, get in the habit of locking the doors everywhere.

The OT has the debate thread about turning off your vehicle while at a gas pump. I do every single time if I am alone. Not because I believe something will go boom, but because I don't trust people. I turn the car/truck off, get out, and hit the locks and make it beep. I also lock my vehicle doors at home, as well as when I'm driving. All it takes is one crackhead hopping in your front passenger seat and you have to get him out of the car by giving him a $20. True story. I was 19 when it happened, and I've locked my doors ever since.
