They spend billions of dollars developing the best war fighters, but they don’t invest in their mental well being after their service. It’s a fricking tragedy. Those are our guys out there eating a bullet for things that can be treated.

I agree with you 100%. I never, ever, want to be put in that situation. It would change my life forever and I'm not sure how I would cope with it. I know I would do what I had to do in the "heat of the moment" scenario, but I probably couldn't do the premeditated thing. I don't have a child though. I have an uncle who killed someone who was robbing him, and he is changed forever, so I see what it can do to a person.

If I wrote out the thoughts that are currently in my head about what I would do to someone I'm not sure I could come back here and be seen in the same light ever again. Let's just say there would be prolonged pain in a way that I would lose my soul over. There would be adrenaline to shoot into his heart to keep him alive as long as possible. It would be draconian, merciless and to borrow scripture from Ezekiel, my furious anger will lay my vengeance upon him.

Think about how often someone's family member or members are murdered. Then think about how often anyone actually
retaliates the way many say they would. Almost never.
I think the odds are pretty low that you would do anything, unless you were there at the time it was happening, and that doesn't even fit the scenario. Apparently when something like this takes place you are in shock. Emotional overload. That will usually rob you of the will power to do anything but mourn your family. Your mind is struggling to deal with the necessary task of getting them to their final resting place. That's the last act of love you can give them and that takes precedence over everything else. By the time you come out of the fog it's usually too late to take vengeance.

Honestly, I'd kill the guy, quietly. And if I didn't get caught I'd kill any sicko I read about in the paper and consider myself doing the community a favor. Until I got caught. I would like to think I would just kill myself, or suicide by cop, but not take any of the boys in blue with me at that point.
Also, just to add, our justice system is so screwed up it's pathetic. The system keeps so many people in that could/should be out, and releases so many that should never see the light of day.
We really need to just get back to hanging after a quick verdict.

Depends on the situation. If the dude is seriously mentally ill I would not go after them.
If it was some thug, terrorist, or serial killer that got off on a technicality... That person would not be long for this world.
Most on here talk about the trauma of seeing a person die. I'd probably agree which is why I'd go the DC sniper route. Two slugs to the chest from a scoped out rifle would be enough for me.
