Not quite. A father killed his son’s rapist. It was in an airport. A few posts up has a still shot from the shooting. Gary Plaunche was the father.
The guy with the hat is who you’re talking about.

There are several different scenarios in my head that I've thought up, and honestly I hope to hell I never have to make that decision. It likely won't be pretty for psycho. I may not take care of it myself, I may send an endless supply of cigarettes, nudie mags, and little debbies to some lucky guests of the state, or I may go full on Law Abiding Citizen. who knows.

I believe he was actually charged and sentenced, but it was suspended or something like that. It was in the airport. He pretended to use a pay phone and pop the creep in the head. Hell of a shot. Hit a moving target, contorted and from the hip.

Yup, I gotta admit that if I was on the jury I would have a hard time convicting him. A temporary insanity defense would seem extremely logical to me.

It’s actually a very easy conviction. It wasn’t insanity. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was way too calculating to have acted on a moment of insanity. Rightfully, however, he never served jail time. He’s a hero in most people’s eyes. I can’t say I condone what he did, but I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same thing. I certainly don’t have sympathy for the dirtbag that hurt his kid. In the end, the good guys won, the bad guy is worm food.

Uh, you were in the house when it happened maybe? It was someone you knew that killed a family member and you knew before the cops did. There are an infinite number of possibilities.

And you know, this is the type of "justice" I see on this board when these kinds of things come up. The 13 year old girl who was kidnapped and parents were killed, look at that thread and see the "kill him now", "kill him in public", etc. comments. Well, it happened back then. And I have to admit, I was glad there was no trial needed. Sorry to say that, but that was my true feelings.

Of course not. My angle on the question in the OP is: would you kill to save a family member or friend in the heat of the moment if possible. OR, if you knew who killed a family member and had the opportunity would you kill them in retaliation? Morbid, I know. But that is the question.

Killing someone or watching someone die, regardless of their crimes, is not an easy thing. Ask any cop or soldier who took another person’s life for all of the right reasons. It’s easy to say you want to do it, but when you actually have to do it, it’s an entirely different feeling. Most posters say the things they do because they’re angry. I’m guilty of saying the same thing, but I’ll be the first to say that if I never have to live with a death on my conscience, I’m perfectly okay with that. Even if it is for the very best reason.
