I mean I’ll let my kids have a coke or a Dr Pepper once in a blue moon if we go to five guys or something. It’s really not that hard to label something as a treat.

quote:my kids, both with thin and athletic builds, drink soft drinks sometimes. It’s not a big deal. They eat candy and ice cream sometimes too. Fried food fairly often. Pizza almost weekly. They also eat lean protein, veggies, and drink plenty of water. They also stay extremely active. I don’t really need any help from the government when I’m buying food for them.
This might have made a difference in the 90s when people drank soft drinks like they were going out of style, but who actually lets their kids drink soft drinks anymore?

Coke being this boogie man while kids chug Gatorade and fruit punch is hilarious

I don’t know the incentives to encourage healthier lifestyles. This country needs more personal accountability and you can’t get that with laws.
Laws governing people isn't the way to do it. Overhauling the FDA is the way to go. The US allows things in our food that other countries do not. American fast food companies have to alter the food they serve to other countries because those countries deem it unfit.

There are adults that order kid meals
Those are the ones I’m wanting to see go ham

That is great news. My trans son doesn't always make the best choices.

Too bad parents can’t do this themselves

This is such a great idea. I can't wait to see the positive changes taking place in NOLA right away. Good job, Democrats!

How I got my sweet McD's Halloween buckets

Edit: I did order water though with my meal because I really never had a taste for soda. Lucky my parents always limited us to one at a restaurant and after that it was water, and we never really had them at home either.

How about a tax break if your BMI is below a certain level?*
*I know BMI is a bad measuring tool, but it's a start. Any fat/obesity index y'all come up with is fine by me.

Was on a road trip over the holidays and stopped at a Chic-Fil-A so everyone could get out of the car and grab something quick. There was a kid in there that was easily under 8 and he finished his carbonated beverage of choice and was getting a refill before his food came out. Mom wasn't even phased as it was apparent he was bulking up to fulfill a life long dream of playing DT

A city council can pass whatever regulation they like.
I'm not sure this ordinance would win a law suit challending governments right to tell a parent what hey can buy their kid in a restaurant.
Will be interesting to see if someone takes them to court over their ordinance. Aeems to me if you can buy your kid a coke at the 7-11 store or Krogers, then they can't regulate your buying them one at McDonalds.
If they can do that, the next ordinance ahould be to outlaw any steak over 4 ounces, or more than one beer per day in a bar.

While this bill was being written, Jason Williams probably let at least 4 murderers out of jail and I'm not even kidding.
