Socks first, walk to the closet to grab the shoes then put them on. I rarely wear lace up shoes anymore, so no bending down to put shoes on. While standing, I stick my toes in, lift the shoe up with it on my foot, and stick a finger in the back and slide it over my heel. I'm pretty much always wearing socks though, unless I'm in flops or slides. Wearing pants to work, I put the dress socks on before the pants, so it is easier to go underwear, socks, pants, shirt, then belt and shoes are last.

Who walks around in one socked, shoed foot and a bare one?
My 2 under 5 do this all the time when we first get home after school/camp
In my house it's pretty universal sock sock shoe shoe. We try to keep the shoes in the mudroom, and everyone walks around in socks or bare feet

If you walk into your house, immediately sit down to change to indoor footwear; but don't change into your comfortable cardigan sweater; then you are indeed the weirdo.

3) Left Shoe
4) Right Shoe

Sock sock shoe shoe like a rational person. The other way is a sign of mental instability.

This is because you think of the most efficient and logical way of doing things. It’s why I do it this way. Each foot comes up only once and not twice.
The overreactions to this method is crazy

I take my socks and shoes together and set them next to me and do it all right there. Why would you put on socks then walk over to another location and put your shoes on? Seems like a waste of effort.
Socks are in the bedroom; shoes that I frequently wear are on a rack under a bench in the mud room at the front of the house. No wasted movement.

I like to go sock shoe and sleeve, then do the other sock shoe and then sleeve.

Left sock, left shoe, right sock, right shoe. Unless it's flipflops. Then its left, right...

I wear flip flops or boat shoes which I get wet all the time.

The real question is why does wearing only socks and shoes feel more naked than actually being naked?

Putting shoes on implies that you are getting ready to leave the house, which is usually frowned upon if you are otherwise in the buff.
Just adds a bit of creepiness to it.
