Fronts are going to start coming through soon and once that happens it’s pretty much over for Alabama westward.

Pretty tame season for all the hysteria about the climate changing rapidly.

Definitely on the backside of the peak season for the gulf.

As has been said, fronts start pushing them away from the gulf coast.

hopefully but wouldnt go that far just yet. Been several October storms over the years. AL and MS both have had 3, TX 5, and LA 10 October hurricanes over the years. Not counting tropical storms just hurricanes. Def slows down but not sure I would call 21 October hurricanes done just yet. Florida though as had 36 october hurricanes and seveal up the east coast so the trend def sends them more east the rest of the way for sure.

Cat FIVE Hurricane Michael says hello from way back in....last year. October 10th I think

Eye opener and reminder that yes its late in the season, but it only takes one and it can be a mean MFer. Cringe to think what they would have looked like in SE La.

In October, it's the Western Caribbean we typically keep an eye on. Not unusual to get a north runner out of there. Currently not seeing much in the next week to ten days to worry about.

GFS has been crap after 7 days... with that in mind their models have been persistent with a disturbance in the western carribean/ SE gulf for the middle of October.

It feels like for the past three seasons or so we've had our football schedule affected by a hurricane... it's about time.
