So what is the status of the LNG facilities around Lake Chuck?

Different sector of the energy industry than I am in so I don't keep up with it too much. I see Shell dropped out of the project they were in. Just curious as to what the state is of all the different projects going on down there. Energy Transfer, Cheniere, etc. Anytime I ever heard anything about them it was usually over budget and behind schedule.

I don’t know about the LNG facilities but I know some refineries are cutting production and some are talking about temporarily shutting down operations temporarily.
Not entirely sure how the global demand dropping impacts the LNG facilities but energy is cheap as shite right now

I can tell you no refineries around lake Charles is talking about shutting down temporarily lol and as far as I know no chemical plants have had that discussion either

impacts it big time. The reason these facilities were built was to sell LNG to Asian markets. LNG has been extremely cheap in North America vs Asia/Europe over the past decade+. Now that price spread is non existent. They do have contracts so some LNG will keep flowing, but the sector will not grow until the price spread (and the price of oil) increases again.

It's extremely expensive to shut down. Best to decrease production and ride it out.

-Cheniere has been operational for like 4 years and is the largest exporter of LNG in the US I believe.
-Cameron LNG (Hackberry) has 2 trains operational and is now exporting.

True, but except for the ones that are already in production (e.g. Cove Point) or in construction (Venture Global) the production is so far out that prices could be recovered.

Two shell facilities in the gulf coast are having serious discussions about how to run their wastewater treatment plants with severely limited or no forward flow for an extended period of time. Refineries around the BR area are already cutting/have cut rates significantly, and some are at as low as they can hydraulically cut. Any further reduction in rates and the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics don’t work and they have to shut down.

I work in one of the LC refineries and I have heard (not at the smoke shack 
) that with the current price of oil in combination with the decrease in demand for fuel that there are discussions about shutting down production due to limited space.
I'm not sure how that impacts other downstream products that refineries produce (coke, wax, oils, acids, etc) but if they don't have anywhere to put the gasoline, diesel, & jet fuel they will not be able to continue making it.
