On a sudden and impromptu basis during a family outing in the pizzeria? Regarding subject matter that's a bit more complicated than where babies come from?? Pretty difficult, in my mind. Not to judge anyone as definitely right or definitely wrong, but my personal preference would for that not to occur in that way. But it is true, once it does I certainly believe some discussion must happen sooner than later with the kids, because as we all probably know, they're extremely perceptive. But perceptive doesn't equal understanding, of course.
