Being uncomfortable around trannies is nothing to be ashamed of. It is natural to be freaked out by freaks. That's how evolution works. We've moved past that in a sense, but that doesn't suddenly remove our naturally occurring aversion to freaks. People with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder freak me out just as much if they aren't getting help for their condition.

My primary care physician is trans. True story. She is a great doc who is pragmatic, straight forward and brilliant. I chose her because she takes great care of her pts at our hospital. If I had gender issues I may have chosen differently because of a clear bias but her judgement is not clouded on health issues due to her own gender choices. I can’t say that would hold true for all trans docs but in her case it does.
