Where the hell did they get this from? If this is true my best friend will get 3' of water in his home. He got 7' in 16

Ive thought the same. All the river flood stages are forecasted to crest below where they did in 2016 which would suggest fewer people flooding. Flash flooding may be another story but as far as back water flooding I expect less.

They are projections, and they are based on estimates of how much water will fall over the area.

They could be correct, or they could be an underestimate, or they could be completely wrong. Absolutely no one knows how or where the rain will fall right now.

Well tell him to start picking shite up.

Also, 3’ on that river gauge does not equal 3’ at his house unless he is right on the river

Every model has been saying 38'.
He would be good if this were true. 41' would devastate him. He's 64 and it would ruin him.

It's pretty much a wild arse guess at this point. It all depends on where the bands come on shore and how all of this plays out.

I know it sucks worrying about this. During the 2016 event my family member was relaying info to me that the Amite would crest on Sunday. I rented a U-haul for friday to go pick up as much as I could.

Then the crest forecast went way up and moved to Saturday.
On Thursday night all hell broke loose with the rain north of the area and by 8:00 AM water was rolling into my peeps house on Friday morning.

I was warning him that Friday. Told him I would come over and help him move his irreplaceable items into his attic. He was sure it would be ok. Saturday afternoon he had 3' of water in his house and was scrambling to get his vehicles out of the neighborhood
He lives by the Racetrac off Florida Blvd and Rushing.

The real question is... why are you watching WBRZ? WAFB is far superior in weather coverage.

You can tell who did and didn't flood by the way people post on here. It's a miserable thing to gut your house whether you have insurance or not. Plus it's very unhealthy because of mold etc..... Floods suck. Have a little sympathy fellas. This is a life changing event here for a lot of people.
