Idk if I've ever turned my vehicle off to fuel up in my life. If I'm going in the store after I fuel it up and move to a parking spot before I shut it off.

Even If this isnt really your profession, this is incredibly irresponsible advice. If a cigarette can cause a fire, it can can cause a fire at a gas station.

Every cigarette that is smoked needs to be lit, and needs to be eventually put out, each of which can easily cause a fire due to negligence.

Just because a lit cigarette has a low probability of igniting gas fumes, does not make them safe to smoke at a damn gas station.

Caused by all the sparks flying from the lug nuts. The fire goes out pretty quick though.

If it were really that dangerous then we'd have to push our vehicles out when we're done with the fillup. Why risk an explosion by starting your engine?

Is the cell phone theory a myth too?

Yes. If it were valid then every gas station in America would have blown up by now.

Tell that to my Brother In Law who has burns to 40% of his body, including the face, after he was pumping gas and somebody else was smoking. Not impossible.

I've seen my buddy's tank catch fire before. All he did was put the cap over it to suffocate the flame and everything was fine.
I always turn mine off from habit. It's not that hard for me to twist a key and chill for a few

GA has some type of rule

Speaking of GA. I recall some kid getting blown up smoking next to a gas can he had to fill up is lawnmower.

But hey, y'all go ahead and risk having the skin on your face melted off.

And by the looks of it, it is actually illegal to run your car at the pump in some states.

Actually saw something that said you risk child abductions leaving your car running with your child in it at the pump.
