I can read words in cursive not letters. Boycotted those lessons in school, its an art form of writting, serves no purpose

What is the point of cursive? We all write via keyboard now. Older people so offended that their obsolete writing style is dying out.

Both my kids could read and write in cursive by 6. Not sure why it’s
so hard for some people, and it’s gonna challenge this generation in their adult years.

“Starting in 4th grade, all of your teachers will require cursive”

“Starting in 5th grade, all your teachers will require cursive”

“Once you get to he high, if you write in print they’ll make you redo it”

“Once you reach high school, they’ll give you a zero for not writing in cursive”

Lies teachers tell.

For all the folks laughing at cursive and saying it is obsolete, how do you write a check. I own a business and time to time we have to write checks to vendors. Especially small business people who don’t have credit card service. I was taught to always fill out the amount section of a check in cursive to keep people from altering the amount.

I don't think cursive writing is even taught in school anymore.

I remember a few years ago trying to buy a slide rule.
Not only couldn't find one, but nobody
knew what it was.

Imagine thinking anyone needs to know cursive in 2019

I cant imagine being a native born American with English as my first language going to the Library of Congress and requiring a translator to read the most important documents in the formation of America.

My oldest son is in 6th grade right now and has never been exposed to cursive in school. I showed him some old papers my mom saved from back when I was his age, all in cursive, and he couldn't understand it.

Another thing I don't think is taught is how to write and send letters. I was already in my late 20s when I enlisted in the Navy in 2010 and the 18yr olds came up asking me how to fill out an envelope because they never sent a letter by mail before. That made me feel ancient

I can write cursive. And, I do it extensively.

I'm smarter than the OT.

Today has ended well.

I was taught cursive in elementary school and I can write in cursive. I struggle with reading cursive because 90% of the time it’s written by an old person who has awful handwriting and just scribbles.

How does cursive prevent alterations that printing the amount wouldn't? And banks will still cash checks with the amount written in print. I've been doing it for damned near 20 years. And yes I know how to print, I just don't give a frick about doing it.
