I am going to say that because her daughter had just been gunned down and she was going by what she was told.. That it was a white dude who did it. It was an emotional reaction.
If you child was gunned down and you thought a black man did it, what would you do? I bet you wouldn't say anything about race huh? I am just being realistic. Like I said before, it's not like she was using her daughter's death to lock up just any white man.. if he wasn't the one who shot her.
