This has been the big problem with large schools and why valedictorians are becoming useless. It's become who can cram the most AP courses into their schedule vs taking what might suit your career path better. Someone may miss out of valedictorian because they decided to focus more on their college path instead of trying to cram in AP courses. Kid still ends up with straight A's, but because of the AP boost, doesn't come close to top 10 in the class.

Will they start eliminating bosses and company heads too because it hurts the other employees feelings for being inferior? This is ridiculous. The valedictorian deserves the credit

Why did the SJ "Warriors" parade through Oakland?

They should give the trophy back before they hurt somebody's feelings.

When i found out how shitty my ranking was after my freshman year in hs, I actually started studying more and was able to earn a few schollys. Without that, I'd certainly be worse off today

Why stop naming one? We should let everyone be one and each person would be able to give a speech at the graduation. Could you imagine how funny those stupid fricks speeches would be?

You don't take AP levels, you don't belong in the top 10 period.

Look at this case

What if a portion of the people in the top 10 took some shite like Music Theory or Studio Art to get their AP boost to beat him out? Are you saying that deserves the boost over ROTC in a student that clearly is excelling in AP classes.

They need to find a better way to rank, the AP boost is a joke at a certain point. You just find the kid (or 48 of them) who can cram the most of them into their schedule instead of the best of the best.

I mean that's the whole goal of socialism and the left.

If everyone is considered exceptional then no one is.

It's an ideology of jealousy.

This just goes to show that people are too stupid to form valid opinions...

The valedictorian is simply the person who gives a speech (or valediction) at the ceremony.

Sure it is usually awarded to people in the top of the class, but it doesn't have to be. Wanna be inclusive? Let Simple Jack get up there and stutter trying to read the speech his mom wrote.

On the other hand, I hate graduation ceremonies so getting rid of all the speeches would make them fly by. I retract my previous statement. No More Valedictorians!!!!!

This is valid issue. Specifically in Texas where graduating top 10% of your class grants you automatic acceptance to any state university.
