Instead of hiring a professional who have knocked it out in a few days, we have been on an adventure that is now at two weeks and counting.

That was your first mistake.

I'm all for hiring professionals for some things, moving and painting being two of the main ones.

That’s why I’m glad I’m single. Painted my interior 20 years ago a neutral color and it’s still that color. IDGAF about changing it.

I learned long ago that while I can do a lot of things...I don't want to.

I hire someone to do it for me so I don't have to.

Dude, I painted my mom's whole house in 2 weeks. And that was just 2 days a week, Fri and Sat.

Then it sucks.

Is she painting a mural or something in there?

I don't understand why it would take so long. We're planning on doing our dining/kitchen area and it might take a couple of days. And it's a decent sized area.

We hired a contractor to come in and redo our kitchen cabinets. After the finished she decided to paint our kitchen, wash room, hallways, master bedroom, spare bedroom and dining room. We did contract out the living room and foyer only because of the height of the walls. Once she started she didn’t want to quit. I let her get after it. Turned out great. Taped everything off and went to town.

That’s a weekend job at most. My wife hates taping. I hate cutting in and trim. So we compromise and I run all the tape and she paints all the trim and edges of the wall while I roll. Split a 6 pack of beer, get in there and make her finish it, and be proud when you’re done.

my wife has repainted every room in our house at least once. That's a 1 day job. End of story.

For a dining room and kitchen, it depends on the cabinets. If everything is built in, you're going to have to paint the insides and fronts and remove everything there. As well as have meals ready to pull out of the freezer for as long as the jpb takes.

Painting TDL French Doors takes long enough. And TDL windows on our solar collecting porch.
