So is The Texan a straight up knock off of Buc-cee’s?

Seen
quote:

in roadside Texas:

This place is a straight up knockoff of Buc-cee’s.

Down to the decor, circular logo and beef jerky for sale.

Man, I love capitalism.

“Nice margins you have there. Be a shame if something happened to them!”

I stopped at Bucees today actually on my way home from Houston. They have a sandwich with brisket, sausage, and smoked turkey. They’ll be fine.

There's probably a large market available for being Buc-ee's on a smaller scale with the same service and cleanliness. I personally always avoid Buc-ee's because they're usually annoyingly far off the highway and there's just too many fricking people. I typically opt for Texas Best Smokehouse.

Every good thing or good idea gets knocked off these days. It is just a sign of the bad times we live in.

It's like with the McDowell's Big Mick, I'm sure The Texan's corn puffs are called Possum or Armadillo Nuggets.

The only surprising thing here is that it took them so long to come up with a copycat store.

Buc-ees has been printing money for many years. You would think entrepreneurs would have been on this already.

They have the golden arches, we have the golden arcs. They have the Big Mac, we have the Big Mic. They both have two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but no sesame seeds on our buns.

Buccees is the Walmart of gas stations. Took ideas from gas stations around the country and put it under one roof. This is no way a knock on buccees but you can’t really copyright the idea, just the recipes and logos.

I'm all for it, everyone wins with better choices being available on our highways. No shortage of gross arse gas stations.

They should steal the market west of San Antonio. They would kill it out there since there aren’t any Bucee’s in west Texas.

Building more super nice gas stations (that you don’t have to stop at if you don’t want to), hell yeah, bring it! Good for them.

There’s plenty enough people and road traffic to put them in Abilene, Odessa/Midland, Lubbock, Amarillo, El Paso. Even one around Fort Stockton or Van Horn.

A Bucees or this Texan place would kill it on I-10 west of El Paso as you cross into the state from New Mexico. You could even have a sign saying next Bucees 500 miles.
