ADM: Additional Dealer Markup

Common with highly sought after cars. When the GT500 came out, dealers were getting $5K-$15K over sticker. Same with all the variations of the Hellcat Challenger.

Unless people are putting a ton of money down there are going to be an arse load of very upside down car owners when things return to normal.

Everyone thinks that but right now in this market, you're walking. I thought it was negotiable too but my good friend works at the dealership where my daughter got her civic. He confirmed that NOBODY is getting a deal or discount. That market adjustment is NON negotiable b/c the next customer will pay it.

All of which makes you question the decision making of people purchasing vehicles right now when they currently own one. Owning the new model has the potential to sink medium income baws these days. Can't wait for the deals in a year or 2.

How many cars did you see on their lot?

My wife was at the Audi dealership in Memphis last week getting her oil changed.

They had 6 cars on the lot.

We we bought her’s in 2019 there were probably 100-150.

People actually pay the 40 for nitrogen and 195 for wheel locks

Subaru charged me $32 for wheel locks, and I had to ask for them.

It's a small lot and seemed full. As I was waiting, I told my wife that the worst thing about dealing with them was, there was nothing interesting to look at while I waited. BTW, I was selling, not buying.

People still fall for the nitrogen in tires thing?

It’s easily worth it in the winter. I used to spend at least $40/year refilling with regular air.

I just changed jobs after 9 years with Crain Automotive here in Arkansas. My brother is a salesman for one of the Kia dealerships. For the last 5 or 6 years he has been in the top 50 nationally in New Kia sales.

The car business is shady and fricked up. Salesmen are loving the shortage because they are making a killing. I wouldnt buy now unless you just had to.

I bought my gf a new Kia right before I changed jobs and got it for under sticker. Employees deals only have to gross $500 profit. They had maybe 15 new cars total on the lot. Half of them were souls.
