re: So if one of the citizens that saw the shooter on the rooftop had a conceal and carry.....

Come on guys, FFS. The maga dude with the red hat and fro literally said he was standing next to “this tree right next to the building 50 ft away” which is clearly NOT inside event boundaries. All the other videos being leaked showing cops going towards that building minutes before shots are clearly outside of the event boundaries.

You’d probably be shot just for trying to get on the roof yourself

And was able to make a preemptive strike on the shooter, would he/she be hailed as a hero, arrested for murder or both??
Also, pretty sure you wouldn't have been allowed to conceal carry into an area that's under SS protection

I assume if a random dude in PA shot another random dude it PA the locals handle it.
The feds would find a way to make it a federal case and move to put it in a DC court and he would be convicted by a jury of his “peers.”
ETA if he somehow wants sniped by the SS

Concealing a firearm around a secret service protected event with snipers is always smart.

You would be shot the second you lift your shirt to grab that pistol. You wouldn’t even have a chance at raising your weapon, which is what makes this shooter being able to do what he did so much more mind boggling.

Local PD, state police, local sheriff’s office and the Secret Service were all there. There were plenty enough guns to stop the shooter. They just all sucked that day.

Exactly. And to add to that, with all those agencies around I would think there would be multiple people undercover. You’re going to make the call from the ground that this guy on the roof isn’t an undercover LEO you’re going to shoot at?
The citizens did their job, they spotted, reported, and kept eye sight on him…unfortunately every professional failed

This wasn't a scenario where anyone with a CHP would want to be carrying or need to be. You assume tons of police and secret service present so no threats to you. In fact, you'd fear being seen as the threat.
I CC to protect myself and family in situations where police may not be able to respond to help you in a pinch like grocery store, parking lot, etc. This was not one of those spots.

Anyone who pulled a piece would have had their heads blown off by the SS.

If a conceal carry person was inside the perimeter this would be more indication of massive failures by the Secret Service.

It was a pretty routine shot for the sniper with a scoped rifle and a rest....would have been pretty damn good shot with a handgun or even a scoped rifle from a standing position with no rest of any sort. Hollywood makes shooting folks look way easier than it is....
There is also the problem of toting a firearm around secret service agents and police in a crowd. While it may well be perfectly legal to do so outside the established perimeter it is not wise.....

It’s literally the same thing just said differently

Probably shot, likely charged, maybe cleared of any wrongdoing.Could die a hero.

1. The government would kill you and then probably label you as a conspirator with the POS, because the government is never at fault.
2. And the larger issue...............this is why the 2nd amendment is so important, you are your own first responder. After Uvalde and now this epic fail by LEO, shut them all down and return us our money. They can't protect a former president and the supreme court has said they don't have any obligations to protect us.

You’d be wrong. The videos I have seen were in the shaded areas outside of the boundary next to the building shooter was on top of.
They went by the property lines to define the area they were responsible for. Only the fair grounds proper. Everything else was left to other LEO.
In other words, their threat assessment was shite.

Cop who climbed the ladder should have shot him.

Don't these type of events usually have snipers set up in different areas?Sure, the guy looked sketch and he should have been taken out prior. But do you really want to risk shooting at a possible concealed SS sniper because you thought he looked sketch?
That’s why the counter sniper team waited and didn’t shoot him at first. Where he was setting up was where the sniper team chilling inside the building eating doughnuts was supposed to be.

I think if a civilian had pulled a weapon and fired he would have been shot by the snipers.
That would be a very bad idea,
