He said bringing chinese jobs to us is dumb cuz things will cost 10x more.

Got me thinking, do you mind paying significantly more for American made items? Like I’m talking 2000$ iPhones and shite.

I love the USA but I don’t get paid enough for that

Dave Chapelle is one of the GOAT comedians, but should you really care about his economic opinion?

isn’t this the reason why we don’t raise minimum wage?

The economy would work itself out in the long run.

The ugly truth is our economy isn't in a place where those jobs coming back would make a difference. Everything would be automated so companies could maintain the current prices as much as possible.

If we want to bring back the glory days of American manufacture, we will have to sacrifice by paying more... and probably buying less.

We'd save on cost of importing those products.

If someone tries to charge me $2,000 for an iPhone, I'd kick em in the pussy.

You'd think that saving the shipping cost would offset higher labor costs here, but it doesn't.

I know a guy in the recycling industry. They send shiploads of aluminum to Asia to be processed and then ship it BACK to America because it's cheaper than processing it here. I told him he had to be fricking with me, but he swore up and down that it was true.

No it wouldn't. Not in a global economy. That's why the whole idea of bringing jobs back is a moot point.

The only point that can be made is can we bring back making things at a reasonable rate?

If we made Iphones at $2000 that doesn't stop China from making them for $100. No one is gonna buy the $2000 american phone when the $100 chinese one is an option.

Shipping cost are insignificant. It is the labor and environmental cost that put America at a disadvantage.

Stay in your bubble. It was the second largest energy source in the US last year. We are still very much dependent on it

That’s without considering any other contract he may have gotten after. With the success of that show at that point, he may very well have been the richest entertainer in the world by now if he stayed the course.
