Do you get this worked up over every "what if" in your life? Accept each situation and react accordingly. If his whole family is dead on I-10, then yes, be furious.

This. I dont get it either. I think the vast majority of people are too conditioned to how easy it is to die in a car accident.

There is only so much time in the day to be angry. You going to blow it on bad drivers? People have heart attacks and die literally constantly, should I be in a constant rage every time I see you eat bacon? A guy made an ill advised turn, and no one was hurt, what's the use in getting angry?

The obvious point is, the type of person that caused this accident is all over the road and could just as easily caused a serious situation. The OP was fortunate in this situation. But you already know this, and Im sure would show the proper restraint if your life was just put in jeopardy by the complete irresponsibility and recklessness of another.

I had an illegal back into my car while I was in the grocery store. I had to pay for all damage to my car. Nothing happened to him.

Wrong.
Had it happen to me with my sister driving in the Chuck after Rita happened. Guy rear ended us, had no proof of anything, nothing. No Englais....cops showed up, called Border Patrol. He was not ticketed by local LEO. LEO told us that there was nothing they could do to him. Border Patrol, now that was another issue....I believe he went away...
