The usual group of middle aged white guys that want to think a certain way despite all info, will. The rest of us will watch or not watch the olympics like we always do and pay no attention to what anyone is wearing.

I'm a middle aged white guy, btw.

Now that Nike is all for kneeling against the USA that oppresses blacks and civil rights of minorities.

US Olympic athletes have been protesting oppression going all the way back to Jesse Owens.

And Nike has dumped an absurd amount of money into not just Team USA apparel. They’re the foundation of some of the best Olympic training facilities in the world.

Nike isn’t going anywhere.

ETA: Thanks to Walt for pointing out the error.

the fact that you can not see any slight conflicted interest with nike having strong ties to both team usa and this kaepernick situation just shows how deliberately naive you want to remain.

If your opinion is to say, given time and the situation settles i don't think it'll be that big of a deal... that's fine.

But nike is going from the face of the kneeling against the flag to selling piles of Olympic gear with the usa flag flaunted everywhere.

some very valid points made unlike most others in this thread.

But the athletes protesting is still not the same as the olympic committee protesting.

Nike is also probably dumping that money into the olympic training facilities due to the fact that they are the brand of the apparel, their success means success for nike selling gear. its a chicken and egg relationship.

Nike's only interest is making money. These 2 things do not conflict with that interest.

One might turn out to be a bad risk and they will abandon or reassess. But that doesn't change their interest.

And you want to call me naive.

Their relationship with the Olympics (even more specifically US Track and Field) goes all the way back to Prefontaine and Bowerman, where Nike all started. It goes way, way beyond that little swoosh on the apparel the athletes wear and that Nike sells.

Some of those Olympic shirts look badass. I will probably pick a couple up if they don’t sell out.

And its "liberal" to not boycott Nike now? Interesting.

Whether or not to boycott is not liberal, bc I’m still going to buy Nike shoes. Agreeing with Nike/Kap’s stance is indeed a liberal position. A very harmful position based on nonsense.

Cool. So my position isn't "liberal". Good to know.

is your latest shtick?

seems like in almost every thread I see you post in and based on your post history, it’s all variations of: in your feelings, melt, melting, butthurt, etc

you seem to get really upset that anyone has a different opinion than you. Why is that?
