Okay... what exactly is real and not real? I can't keep up anymore. Am I even real?

but I can't watch DirecTV when it rains in 2024

I watched DirecTV straight through hurricane Zeta (a Cat 3 that made direct landfall on my hometown) right up until I lost power.
Started generator in the eye and watched it again through the backside of the storm.

pretty sure that the government is telling the truth about the moon landing is kinda the key holding the whole 'we went to the moon' house of cards together

no, people have given reason why the belief we went.
"the government said so" has not been one of those reasons.

but i was told we were able to successfully simulate and calculate how to blast a spaceship off the moon's surface and get it right on THE FIRST MANNED MISSION without actually, you know, being there before.

it's really not that hard to fathom.

you can replicate a vacuum (no atmosphere) in your house with shite you can buy at Walmart.
you can replicate extreme temperatures at your house with shite you can buy at several different big box stores.

so no, you can't just buy zero gravity shite yet, but you can do basic math to get reasonably close to figure it out.

you then do these experiments in the controlled environment.
some will fail miserably. multiple times. you don't attempt those when on the moon.

some will succeed. so you try to duplicate those as many times as you can in your experiments.
you find the one that succeeds at the highest percentage and you try to perfect it.

it's called practice.
we do it with damn near everything we do as humans.

Fort Jefferson isn’t Real

A teaser:
quote:

SOMEHOW, we are to believe a building project that required 16 MILLION BRICKS(!!) in 1846 was necessary to build a "Fort"? Not only that, this was a virtual artificial ISLAND in the Gulf of Mexico. (So who REALLY built it -- when AND why?)

So we got perfect video 50 years ago but nothing today.

I have some of my dad's old vinyl records that I still listen to regularly.

put the vinyl on and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon plays in all it's glory.

I go to Spotify, click on "Breathe" and I get an error saying "Spotify can't play this track right now, please try again later" while it skips several songs ahead and unable to play any of them until it gets to "Us and Them".

so 50 years ago I could listen have listened to that album with no real issues.
but with today's technology I can't unless it decides it wants to let me.
