I think this is the most telling bit of information.

I think the most telling will be footage of the original hit and run by either smith or the impala and phone records of the alleged prior 911 call.

Clearly coincidence. So he waits 10 years to shoot the friend of a cop who was involved in a lawsuit for his fathers death. And the cop wasn't even one of the several officers who shot his father.

I also think Will Smith's image will come out a bit tarnished after all is said and done.

Big time. The defense is going to make him look like the worst person in the world at trial.

A hit and run is justification to light up a car with 10 bullets now?

No, but an angry NFL player charging after me could well be construed as a threat to my life.

Yeah, the whole idea is ridiculously stupid. Dude's gonna wait 10+ years to shoot a former Saints player who happened to go to dinner with this cop one night, to finally "get his revenge for Daddy"?

You never know what might set a mentally unhinged person off. For the life of me if this guy had as much money as it's said that he does. Why would he get so upset over a little fender bender? Either way I hope that retarded motherfricker spends the rest of his natural life in a one room cell in solitary.

i think most of us would be pretty upset over someone pulling a hit and run, if thats what happened.

if then confronted with the other driver saying he has a gun -- i think you could find a lot of people in bad situations if they happened to carry themselves (and as a millionaire living in nola east youd be carrying)

Look at his face in the top left picture. That's a guy who is mentally unstable.
What about the face to the right of that picture? Is it still a guy who's mentally unstable? It's the same face, after all. Assessing someone's mental condition by their facial expression is ludicrous. And let's also not forget that he's being hauled off for murder at the time of the photo.

However....

quote:

court records show the last publicized settlement negotiations had the city offering $80,000 each to Hayes and his sister Tyiece Baptiste-Howard. They countered with a demand of $125,000 apiece. The suit was settled five days before its scheduled trial date in September 2011 for an undisclosed amount.

This was 5 years ago... How much do you think he has left? You act like he's a multi millionaire.

Also, what background do you have to support the claims that he is mentally unstable?

That might be a good self defense argument if the NFL player is not found dead in his own car shot in the back.

Since no one in this thread wants to say it, I will. Everything in me hopes I am wrong, but that trial in Florida a few years ago should be the playbook for the defense in this case.

I agree.

But when that facial expression is smug and aloof after having just murdered someone, I can draw a pretty reasonable conclusion that this fellow was unstable and this was more than likely not 'self defense'

Except:
1. He wasn't charging, he was shot in the back.
2. Hayes is BIGGER than Will Smith, if you can believe it.
