Yeah a Volvo, with the only turbo charged, supercharged engine ever produced.
What could go wrong
Throw a rod out in the middle of no where out of cellphone range?
On the plus side, satellite phones are cheaper Detroit Deisel had a 2 cycle engine like that.
Big difference though.

Supercharger ftw. No lag on my supercharged Audi.

This thread is making me miss my 2015 turbo diesel Passat!

Modern turbos will not have telepathic throttle response like say a BMW S54 but they are quite good. No need to hit the throttle before the apex to have the power come on on exit.
Superchargers have essentially no boost lag but they suffer from significant amounts of parasitic loss, they just throw power away. They also can't provide high levels of boost without being physically larger compared to turbos. They also only allow one boost curve with a given drive ratio. However, another pro in the S/C camp vs the turbo engine is a S/C doesn't muffle the sound.
That said the Audi TFSI 3L SC engine is one of the best performance V6 engines ever built.

Fun Fact: All Volvo cars are exclusively available with 4 cylinder engines.
Just bought a Volvo S90 with a turbo charged 4 banger. 3 driving modes to the car. Eco, comfort, & dynamic. MF’er will flat get it in dynamic mode.
Fun fact first 1500hp formula 1 engine was a BMW 1.5L 4 banger. Don’t sleep on the 4 banger you might just get your doors blown off by one.

That was a little exaggerated. They are running low 13s with e85 kit, and 12.7 with the $2700 package in the link
Yea I can see that, it usually doesn't take much $$$ in mods to add some serious HP to cars that come from the factory with a supercharger or a turbocharger.

The two door model looks pretty cool.

Volvo S90
I was at a redlight next to one of these the other day and the guy absolutely dusted me. Of course, I didn’t know we were racing but still. If I were in the market for a sedan in that range, the S90 would be a no-brainer.

Got my wife the new Q5 Sport 3.0 which has the V6 last year for $46k. Fully loaded. It took a bit negotiating, but I told them I wasn’t going over $46. Just leave, they’ll call you a few days later. This was the Audi dealership on Airline in BR if that means anything. Good luck!

You are trying to pick a fight where there ain’t a fight.
My reporting that all Volvo cars’ engines are four cylinders was done completely without prejudice and was truly for informational purposes only.
I’m considering a Volvo for my next company ride.

We put our T5 in Dynamic every single time we drive it. Easiest way to bypass the auto-stop feature.

Find a 1987 Buick Grand National for $20,000. Put the rest of your money in an investment. If anyone makes a snide comment give them the finger.

Let's not get carried away now...
The S90 has perfectly adequate acceleration for a mid-sized car but you can't talk about a car "gettin it" when you would be left holding your dick at a stoplight watching a LEXUS ES pull away from you.

Doesn’t the Honda Civic Type R have a 2.0t that gets like 305?

I know this isn't a car forum but citing a Volvo marketing site is a little, umm suspect.
What you want is actual instrumented tests, at least from the same source so their track, drivers and procedures. Obviously, the perfect scenario would be same day comparisons but you can't always find those.
Car & Driver has the Volvo at 6.3 0-60 14.8 1/4, the ES 350 5.8 0-60 and 14.2 1/4.
As I said the ES350 has more acceleration potential so unfortunately, you will have to look at Grandma in the other lane with a fresh eye.
