Slidell v. Lake Charles

almost got into an argument with someone about this a few days ago. i have a very close friend who grew up in slidell and has told me that it has devolved into a complete shithole the past 10 years.
i completely understand that LC "doesn't have stuff to do" and isn't part of a large metro area like the dirty Dell, but if you're living primarily in the smaller areas, you're not going into the city for fun that often. LC is 2 hours from Houston, 2 hours from BR, 3-5 from Nola, 5 from Austin/Dallas, etc. easy weekend trip options
i can't really see any reasonable argument for Slidell over LC. are the schools even that good anymore there? LC still has good, public options (Sulphur, Barbe, Sam Houston)

yes but that's irrelevant. LC could become Houston and the OT would treat it like, well, Houston

I'm from Westlake and live in Slidell at the moment.
I'd pack my shite tomorrow and move back to Lake Charles if my job came with me.
Slidell, is in fact, a shite hole.
Edit- there isn't shite to do in the Slidell area. You have to drive to New Orleans or Mandeville. Slidell has no nightlife worth a frick.
I don't go to new Orleans. If I lived in Slidell in my early 20's I could see this place being vaiable, but in my 30's and don't really party, this place sucks.

The best public HS in Slidell is Northshore and it still sucks. Slidelll is a shite hole. I have extended family there and every time i visit, I am ready to leave after 10 min. The north shore mall is the first thing I thought of on this season’s South Park six episode about malls

Slidell still has pockets of nice areas/public schools, but that is changing quickly with the influx of New Orleans east trash.
