Yeah those Westboro Baptist people are extreme, but they are nothing close to the political right. The smartest, most deceptive thing that the Democrats ever did was attach the political right to religious theocrats, when in reality, conservatism (or libertarianism) has always been about freedom - less, taxes, less social laws, just less government in general.
If anything, the extreme right would be anarchy, but hey that doesn't fit the whole narrative of Team Red vs. Blue, arse vs. Elephant, and so on.

If you want to see how someone makes a rant funny, watch Bill Burr. He can run circles around that chump.
This is how a comedian should rant

Same here. I agree with the guy but I didn't find him particularly funny.

WTH? Evangelical types have always been attached with conservatism. That isn't some conspiracy theory drawn up by the left.

The two party system, where one side has all the answers and all problems can be blamed on the lib-tards or the redneck conservatives, has done more harm to this country than any SJW or Religious extremists could ever hope to inflict on its citizens. We need more parties, plain and simple.

The big problem with that kind of debate is both parties are pretty intellectually incoherent at this point. They are not really intellectually driven philosophies so much as variably incompatible voting blocks that have been wedged into the same tent. Fundamentalists and small government conservatives are not innately sympathetic to each others most cherished values - neither are minority rights advocates and worker's unions.
It isn't as coherent as Jefferson versus Madison at this point. More like their idiot cousins with patronage obligations.

That is more elegantly put than what I could conjure up at 12:30 AM, but I whole heartedly agree.

I tend to lean right, but regardless of who I vote for, today it's the lesser of two evils.

That's been the truth for most people for a while now. People are seemingly more motivated against the opponent than they are true believers in the efficacy of their candidate.
I lean left of center by inclination but it isn't just the republicans self destructing right now. The ideology flowing out of campuses and into the democratic side of the public sphere will leave me unable to vote for anyone in the near future.

It will never happen but I am waiting for the day a legit candidate stand up and say "here is who I am and here is what I stand for" and it not be some party line bullshite. Someone that doesn't have to spout party line crap, of course I would have to agree with what they are saying.
I just don't seen a non-party candidate ever getting enough traction with the left and right constituents dug in as deep as they are.

Well, it may be wishful thinking but I think perhaps we'll see some changes (hopefully more than rebranding) to both parties in the next 20 years. There is some real disenchantment within core constituencies of both parties.
There are also some common values shared between libertarians and liberals for whom the core of liberalism is honest dialogue/free speech above any other value. There would likely be some friction between these guys on issues like abortion and gun control (RE: what constitutes essential intervention and what should be left alone for free choice and failure) but they share more in a purely ideological sense than most people appreciate.

wonderful
Setting aside her appearance I think the big issue is she is spouting emotional nonsense. Declaring opinions you don't like hate speech is the end point of civilization if you are a democratic society.

The fact that social media gives peopled like this a voice and those that support it for the sake of supporting something in opposition whether they agree or not is troubling. Mob mentality in the electronic age, too many people don't think for themselves today.
Dissenting opinions are taken as cold hard facts by people that have not knowledge of the subject they are talking about, and they don't want discussion on it.
Too much "you don't like X, I don't like Y, let's get together and make X and Y acceptable."

How many speakers are shouted down by "Extreme right" types?
And how many leftists stage armed occupations of government property? How many leftists bomb abortion clinics? How many leftists scoff in the face of modern medicine and refuse to give their sick children vaccinations? Both extremes are batshit crazy in their own special, fricked up ways. Both extremes should be ridiculed and recognized for the imbeciles they are. But please, do not act like extreme right wingers are any better than pussy, otherkin, safespace loving, pansexual, weirdo socialists. They all fricking suck.

Well yeah but there are those who are of faith who don't want religion to dictate our daily lives and you have to admit that there are a lot of Evangelicals who believe in such things - blue laws, prostitution, etc.

This we agree on. But too many members of our country are too dumb to put together a coherent thought, much less several of them. We have 4 year olds in this country who can damn near fully use an iPad right out of the box, but we also have 22 year olds at our most prestigious universities who can't stomach hearing ideas that don't conform with their world views. I have no words for how screwy that is.
