but I do think if you're going to be a comedian you should be funny. He was dramatic, but not funny.

The whole point of the tirade went completely over your head, he just wanted to open up and tell some joke but they didn't even let him get started so he told them what he though of them instead.

That's true. It happens on both sides. But after saying that you'd have to also say that college campuses have pretty systematically removed opposing viewpoints from instruction or discussion. That isn't just incompatible with being honest and open minded - it violates the purpose of the institutions.

No, I completely got his point. He was still putting on a performance.

Those poor folks missed out on these brilliant jokes: LINK

I think every single person who yelled out and heckled him to the point where he couldn't do his act should have been thrown out IMMEDIATELY fwiw.

I see people (idiots) protesting outside the Supreme Court, are you trying to tell us they interrupted Supreme Court proceedings and shouted the Justices down?

Good one.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you were enrolled in college classes?

2012 was my last year at LSU and I did not find this to be the case at all.

Just that group in particular protested MILITARY FUNERALS. Are you trying to say that those right wing extremists weren't out of line?

If i gave you a blind pick out of which one was more offensive: a group of assholes interrupting a standup set or a group of assholes interrupting a soldier's funeral, which do you choose?

the world needs more like him, each and every day, reverberating in the earbuds of all the commies...

I archived it...

If someone would have been there putting the funeral protesters in their place I would applaud them too. I am not against left or right, I'm against stupid.

What exactly makes them "right wing" anyway?

Certainly doesn't fit my definition of right wing.

Dude, we both know the WBC is as much a right wing extremist organization as BLM is. They simply use it as a platform to continue thier business of sueing people. That's the only reason why they do what they do.

You guys are just discrediting right wing extremists and disclaiming them. I don't think the guy with the God hates Obama poster is voting democrat

My point is, they exist on both sides. I wish we would just tell the crazies, ALL crazies, to stfu instead of having politicians pander to their demands for votes.

Out of interest I took some graduate classes within the last three years. I also taught a couple of upper level biology classes at a major university last year. The atmosphere at universities has changed shockingly fast.

Going back to a graduate student position taught me that students have been heavily influenced by the philosophies and tactics of third wave feminism social justice warriors. Debate is simply not valued by many students who are activists and the most vocal. The only thing that is valued is supporting people who claim special status.

Teaching taught me how entitled and shitty a minority of students can be in situations that have nothing to do with rights - a reflection of their lack of ability to deal with a bad grade, being asked to do their own work, or being expected to do things that will be necessary to be a functional adult. So, some of this is compounding immaturity on top of ideology (students of all backgrounds seem to share this issue).

But don't take my word for it. Watch this discussion (among others) on the changing environment on college campuses.
