After watching the video focused on the protester, it's pretty clear She doesn't understand the right to free speech and what it is meant to protect. Sigh.

I legitimately hope bad things happen to that fat chick. Not a healthy attitude.

Well I mean, you did use Westboro Baptist as a representative example of "extreme right wing."

So there is that.

I watched the whole 1:31 clip last night.

There's some crappily-raised kids out there.

Observation: A normal nuclear family upbringing is less likely to produce the SJWish garbage.

Reason #5,281 to stay married to the baby momma.

Edit: As to the claims of "no" extremists on the Right, there are ALWAYS extremists to any argument, in this case it's the WBC or KKK, etc. They are marginalized 100X compared to extremists on the Left who somewhat control the argument through their high presence and influence in national media and news.

WBC's sole ideology and agenda isn't to further a perceived cause, it is to be as delibrately and publically offensive as possible to attempt to give them ammo to sue.

They are on their own chart of fricked up.

Actually, the extreme right usually falls more in line with the idea that they need to be left alone so they don't try to suppress everything they dont agree with.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you were enrolled in college classes? 2012 was my last year at LSU and I did not find this to be the case at all

LSU is not a microcosm of the college landscape. I believe Jonathan Haidt quoted some numbers on Waking Up with Sam Harris that was something like even ten or fifteen years ago, the college campus was around 70-30 liberal to conservative. It's now something around 90-10. And the liberal faculty are getting further and further removed from the middle because people keep reinforcing their ideas. Haidt was pretty opposed to this and he's a damn liberal atheist at NYU.

That is great. They're like sheep that are playing follow the leader. If one of their co-protesters yelled out "I hate blue cheese" they would probably say it too.

Just that group in particular protested MILITARY FUNERALS. Are you trying to say that those right wing extremists weren't out of line?

and you're missing the ENTIRE point. The whole reason for the discussion in the OP was that the progressive left and college campuses suppressing speech. They're trying to silence people they don't agree with. The dipshits in your picture aren't suppressing speech, they're actually exercising their first amendment rights, as awful as they may be - they're well within their rights to do so.

The KKK might SAY they want to be left alone, but they want to limit others' freedom of association. Tax Resistors or sovereign citizens pick and choose which laws and rules THEY think apply to themselves, that's not a sustainable concept for a society of law. No citizen can just be left alone.

There is excess and zealotry on both sides, to argue otherwise is not wise.

Again, the Left has much greater control of the argument in modern society to a large degree because it owns and mostly controls the playing field.

Uhhh.. sure, right... extremes are never good, just like a mama bear is "no better" than a shark with a taste for blood- what matters is which is more prevalent/immediate threat in your environment.

Right now, as far as which group of fundamental jackasses poses a more tangible threat, we're in a forest full of angry bears and you're bleating like a goat about how we should acknowledge that sharks are scary too.

I watched it without interruption last night. It was painful at times to watch.

The panelists were more patient than I'd have been.

There's a pretty decent groundswell to have corporate funding removed from political influence. It will always be there, but I think, particularly with the advent of crowdfunding and other online resources, we're going to see a trend over the next several years where less and less elected officials are beholden to big corporate America and trying to maintain the status quo. As that happens, more politicians will speak openly and honestly.

I hope.

They're also kind of used to it at this point. Milo's in the middle of like a 66 college campus tour, all of them get protested in some way, shape or form.
