At the age of the kid, the kid can’t be held legally responsible and basically will have nothing happen to him over this

Today's incident highlights, yet again, the need to prioritize in this nation, the protection of our schools, our students and the communities who care for them.

So the teacher should have had a gun and shot the 6 year old?

Gotcha

When I was in the third grade I had a teacher that wouldn't let a kid beat everyone in flash cards. She'd make him sit down after about two rows. My pops viewed this as racist toward the white kids somehow, and maybe 9 year old me didn't know all the details since moms worked in the system. Pops told me when it happened again to just walk out. And so I did.

Never ever, even being a hunter since I could walk and knew how to use guns, did I ever consider shooting the woman.

Legal? I wouldn't bet on it.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, she said: 'The parents outside stated that their child told them a kid brought golden shiny bullets to school and was thinking about bringing his gun. The student told the parent, who informed the school. And the school just yesterday got back to the parent saying the parent of the kid said it was a nerf bullet and the parent said nerf bullets aren't shiny and gold.'

So, had reason to believe there could be a credible threat, and the school did nothing.

quote:

The school, however, does have the capability of metal detecting students, Superintendent George Parker said at the press conference. They do not perform the test on every student, every day, but said every school in the district has the capability to do so.

'When we have a perceived threat or issue, we do random metal detection on those days,' Parker said on Friday.

It is unclear if the school had enhanced testing after the bullet claim the week prior.

Again, reason to believe there could be a gun brought on site, and guaranteed they did nothing to enhance security.

Don't know VA work comp laws, but hopefully this teacher can find a way around the worker's compensation system and sue for gross negligence.

Not even remotely surprised.

You must live or have lived in virginia. You mentioned Virginia the other day, as well.

Yes, NN and Hampton at least have one of the best high school football teams

Put the parent*(s) and the rabid beasts in a zoo exhibit. Last time I visited HTown's zoo their primates were very lack luster

at minimum he should be taken out of the family environment he's currently in. It may not be enough, but it's the only chance he's got to get him off the path he's going down.

don’t they have minority and majority confused

Not sure what the majority is there, the plurality is white.

White alone - 45.5%
Black or African American alone - 41.0%
American Indian and Alaska Native alone - 0.3%
Asian alone - 3.4%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone - 0.1%
Two or More Races - 7.2%
Hispanic or Latino - 9.6%
White alone, not Hispanic or Latino - 41.3%

Can’t wait for that kid to live on government dime for the next 80 years. No chance he is ever a productive citizen in this country.
