Originally New Orleans East was an upper/middle-class neighborhood with lots of well-heeled subdivisions and several large upscale apartment complexes
You can see that if you drive around, even the bad areas the houses are nice an larger than what you see in Metairie or Kenner, in middle-class neighborhoods.

Bruh, that's a big ole gator head peering back from the water

I've "toured" New Orleans East via Google Maps Street view and all I've been able to find are nice houses with kept yards and decent vehicles out front as if its a good middle class neighborhoods. It definitely doesn't look like the essential danger zone it is. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places or something. It's strange.
I expected a massive area that looked like the 9th ward, but its not really what I saw.

There are some horrible worse than 9th ward areas right off of Dowman and Morrison. If you go past Crowder there are a lot of nicer homes. Off of Lake Forrest there are Mcmansions and gated neighborhoods.
7th ward and upper 9th are the worst looking areas of the city for sure, I think what gives the east such a bad rap is that there is no white people.

Sad part is, this wasn't the first failed experiment in new Orleans east. They didn't learn the lesson of the giant mall and ice rink.
When did this happen? Excuse me for being young, but I'm just wondering when they had one? But yeah I agree with pretty much everyone here saying it's a dumb idea to build something big in NOLA East. Nothing big there will ever be successful in that location.

I think a motor speedway could do well.

So, Six flags just abandoned it? Who feeds the gator?

No REZNOR grafitti? Those can't be recent pictures
I drove through the city Saturday and couldn't believe how much REZNOR tags I saw on building tops.

Probably feeds on photographers who come to take pictures of the park. Also eats a few thugs who come in to spray paint graffiti.
Or, maybe it's a goddamn gator. It can feed itself.

Imagine the 9th ward...
Not that hard of a stretch of thought

Disagree.
NOLA Motorsports park is just starting to pick up some steam. I don't see another track being successful with the limited support racing gets in the area.

New Orleans actually had a lot going for it at one time. It had Michoud, it had massive suburban neighborhoods filled with middle class people. Many of those neighborhoods were build with good sewer systems, underground electrical and cable, ect. However, demographics and flooding doomed it, and now it's a ghost town in areas.

You can't really compare the 9th to the east. The 9th ward is full of abandoned run down houses but there are some areas in the east that have blocks of empty row houses. The east is basically a suburb that's hood as shite, the 9th has more of a city feel.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the park was doing fine financially until the storm hit...
And for the people that are talking about the 'trash' that was there, sure, I saw a few wife beater shirts, but the crowd wasn't as bad as y'all are making it seem... I dno, maybe I'm just differently wired, but I don't always let my crowd dictate whether or not I have a good time

Go look off of downman rd and almonaster, that's where they're hiding
Posted on 12/8/15 at 7:28 pm to Napoleon
They just built one on the opposite side of Nola by segnette
The go karts are a frickin blast
Maybe you're talking like an official Indy 500 type deal, but I don't really follow motorsports

Indy raced at NOLA Motorsports Park this year and it was a disaster.

I hope someone caps Reznor, I had a thread about his bitch arse the other day. He fricked up a friend of mine's business. Then another poster came in with a friend whose business got tagged and then another mentioned his grandfather's house got tagged. One thing to spray your name, that fricker puts his name 30 feet tall.
If I saw him at night I would run his arse over.

Thats an Indy car track, I was thinking a Superspeedway, NASCAR.
But your right, doubt it would get 100,000 fans.
