It’s actually 6b, private companies have priced it out and offered to fund the construction in exchange for tolls for 10 years to recoup the investment and have been stonewalled every time.

It was a waste but I think that bridge was specifically funded with set aside tax dollars over like 20-30 years. In other words, I don't think they had a choice to use it elsewhere.
