The worst is over.

Pretty much where I'm at. My stress level decreased significantly once I started doing exactly as you described.

Worth every penny.

flew Etihad once, great experience and they treated everyone to a first class experience but my wife still got dissentary from the bathroom.

You know if you ask the flight attendant, they’ll give you water. For free. You don’t have to drink it from the lavatory sink…

fricking Bush. Secure the cockpit better? No, lets just create a whole new agency of government and harass people.

Is this really a thing anymore? I would think that any guy in shorts, hey dudes, and a ball cap could afford first class or a 5 star hotel No one dresses up for anything anymore and there are a lot of people running around who have made money doing crazy things.

This wasn't all that recent- 2010 maybe?

Anyway, I guess I didn't give him a "rich guy" vibe. I was wearing slacks and a polo shirt, but no watch, no iPhone, no iPad, no leather manpurse, etc.

Rich guys back then typically had some stupid tech thing they whipped out as soon as they sat down on a plane. I hate that kind of crap.

I still pull out a big old newspaper and read it when I fly. People look at me like I’m from Mars.

SBF might be an exception but when you see Zuckerberg, bezos, etc. dressed like that, they’re often wearing $400 t shirts and other outrageously priced garments. The “rich people don’t show off” thing is misconstrued

It’s the passengers, not the flight.

Anyone had the captain announce we may experience “rough air”? I guess turbulence is too scary of a word nowadays.

Flying with kids is an awful experience. But I enjoy flying alone or just with the wife.

I fly sans kids I bring a carry on, go straight from the car and breeze through tsa precheck, eat all the snacks in the delta club and watch a movie, read or snooze on the plane. I leave early enough so nothing is remotely rushed.

I actually look forward to a flight alone as an opportunity to be out of contact for a few hours.

My wife seems in capable of leaving for a flight on time and the difference in experience when you are early vs fighting traffic and stressing through lines makes all the difference.

Ahhhh yes I met his wife at the Phoenix airport. She was telling me about viking river cruises and I commented that they looked like something we would enjoy. Bish said condescendingly "do you know what they cost?". I replied "of course, I said it looked like something we would like". Who the f says that to someone? The fact that I don't wear jewelry, carry an expensive purse, or dress up to fly should not mean I can't afford to travel. We had not checked luggage yet. Maybe my costco luggage looked cheap

“This will be a full flight today”
Every god damn flight I am ever on. Packed to the gills; will be more packed now that people will not want to check bags anymore after the Southwest fiasco.

Flying absolutely sucks these days. (First class is not really separated from anyone else)
